- Web 3.0 is also called Semantic Web, a term founded by Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of World Wide web
- "It's a set of standards that turns the Web into one big database," according to Nova Spivack, CEO of Radar Networks
- A place with level of artificial intelligence where search engines and software tools could read web pages and understand as human read them and find what we are looking for
"What is web 3.0?" " What would be the differences between web 3.0 and 2.0?" There is still a debate on the definition of web 3.0 nowadays. Computer scientists has been working through the foundation of web 3.0 which machine doing all the work and thinking to find the answer that we are looking for.
"I am looking a restaurant for dinner that located in Sydney city. I have a budget of 300$ for two people. I am looking for a place with water view." With today's technology, you will have to seat for quite some time, go through the list of search result, sort the relevant result, and compare the list in one web site to another. With web 3.0, ideally with the same search, it would provide a result of package that as planned by a experienced human.
Example of the project that aiming for web 3.0 is one of University of Washington project which is KnowItAll. This project has been financed by Google, which is compiling and extracting user posted information in product and review site.
One of the web 3.0 early adapter example is Adaptive Blue
Adaptive Blue
This software could capture the meaning of the web page that browsed by the user and deliver a personalised web experience, and enhance productivity. For example: when you browse about particular book, this tool will understand of what is the page about, instantly look up relevant information from other sites, link to buy the book from other sites.
